Lotus 38 Comparison

Here goes with my side by side comparison of the Lotus 38 1965 Indy Winner driven by Jim Clark.
On the left is the Replicarz version, on the right is the Tecnomodel.
Now of course I'm biased lol but I'll do my best!
First off, the body shapes are completely different.
And notice the front openings.

Here's a better look at the body shape. Our model is on top. The Tecnomodel body looks too fat to me. Also, the 82 decal on the nose looks too big.

The tires/wheels is another area that I find interesting. Our model is on the left. Getting the scale correct on tires/wheels is a challenge for any manufacturer. But I feel the Tecnomodel rears are too big, and the fronts are too small.

The color of the cockpit/interior seems a bit too red on the Tecnomodel (lower image) These pictures also show the subtle differences in the air intakes.

Our version is on top. The steering wheel in the Tecnomodel looks way too big. These photos again show the differences in body shape and the air intakes.

The Tecnomodel is a sealed body design. Ours the engine covers are removable and you get to look at that nicely detailed Ford engine.

One side note: On our sample, the Lotus logo is missing from the nose. This will be corrected on the next sample. I hope you find this comparison useful even though the author is partial to the Replicarz model!
Until next time!

  1. I also think the Replicarz has a superior exhaust. The individual exhaust pipes look much better.

I can’t wait to get one!
